Privacy at Ask a Cook

We collect account identity, verified delivery details, order and conversation records needed to operate the marketplace. Ask a Cook does not currently collect card details; once live payments are enabled, card entry must use the selected PCI-compliant provider’s hosted fields and will not be stored by Ask a Cook.

Addresses and maps

We use Google Maps Platform to find addresses, verify postcodes and display service areas. Address searches and, when you choose “use my location”, your device coordinates are sent to Google to provide these features. Google processes this information under its Privacy Policy.

Your controls

From Profile → Language & privacy you can change consent choices, request a complete JSON data export, or begin the verified account-deletion workflow.

Retention and deletion

Export links expire after seven days. Account deletion has a seven-day cancellation period and is blocked by active orders. When executed, private profile data is deleted; records that must be retained for marketplace, safety or legal obligations are anonymised.

Notifications

Browser notification access is linked only to your account and this device. Old registrations are removed automatically. Marketing messages are sent only when you explicitly opt in.
